CeBIT: Sapphire Blizzard RADEON X1900XTX

So, the long-awaited CeBIT exhibition has begun and we will begin its review with a novelty from Sapphire Technology. In the RADEON X1900 series, she presented the Blizzard RADEON X1900XTX video card. A distinctive feature of the device is the Blizzard liquid cooling system, which was already used by the manufacturer in the Blizzard RADEON X850 XT.

Blizzard is a sealed and quiet liquid cooling solution that occupies one PCI slot in addition to the PCI Express slot occupied by the graphics card. The GPU water block is made of pure copper, as is the heatsink. Refrigerant pumped by a 12-volt mini pump. Air passing through the radiator is removed from the case from the side of the rear bracket by a transparent built-in fan with blue illumination. Two operating speeds provide a choice of low noise or high efficiency mode (18 dBA at 2000 rpm, 26 dBA at 2500 rpm).

To reduce liquid evaporation, the GPU is tied to the system with industrial rubber tubing equipped with stress relieving springs to prevent damage and displacement of the tubing at the connection points. It is possible to refuel the system if necessary.

Blizzard’s cooling system is co-developed with Thermaltake and is a Sapphire exclusive.
