Strong2 – Sharp’s New Heavy Duty LCD Series
Sharp introduces 10.4 and
12.1-inch TFT LCDs LQ104V1DG61 and LQ121S1DG61, the first displays
new Strong2 series. In operation, they are very bright,
wide range of contrast and high mechanical stability. These
modules are designed primarily for industrial automation, as well as
for points of sale and information terminals located on the street, in
conditions where the indication must meet the highest requirements
reliability and clarity of images.
Sharp achieves a wide 600: 1 contrast ratio for Strong2 LCDs by optimizing potential variation
pixels on. Increase the brightness of the entire display
is also achieved by the use of glasses with improved coefficients
light transmission, new backlight lamps and optimal lamp coverage
backlights for increased light output. Thanks to this, it is possible to achieve a common
increase display brightness up to 450 cd / m2?.
Strong2 modules are more vibration-resistant than conventional displays.
New materials as well as redesign of LED display installations allow
to specifically absorb shocks and vibrations. Unlike others
displays, the electronics is not mounted on the frame, but freely “floats” in the housing. IN
addition to this cushioning material in the form of plastic
shock absorbers protects the glass on both sides. The backlight housing is also
designed to provide better protection for fixtures. Most of
vibration is absorbed directly by the housing and shock-absorbing
material. Both on and off the new Heavy
Duty LCDs withstand vibration acceleration tests up to 19.6 m / s? in
range 57 – 500 kHz. In standard bump tests, the displays are
switched off without damage withstand shocks with parameters
accelerations of the order of 490 m / s?.
When used outdoors or in industrial environments, displays are exposed to strong
temperature fluctuations caused by technological processes and
heat generated. With improved polarizers and
RGB filters that withstand both on and off
condition temperature range from -30 to +80 ° C Strong2 modules have grown and
before such requirements.
Samples LQ121S1DG61 and LQ104V1DG61 are already available from Sharp sales office
and distribution partners.
