AMD unveils Turion X2. First photos of the new platform

During IDF 2021, all the press and the computer public are focused on details about future technologies and Intel products. AMD has decided to draw some attention to its solutions, and in the same place, in San Francisco, presented its new processors for notebook computers, the dual-core Turion X2, which will be available for sale in Q2 2021.

It is not yet clear how the performance of the new models will compare with the performance of the Intel Core Duo and the current Turion, but it is stated that the power consumption of the new products will be “within the limits of current mobile processors.”.

Turion X2 will be 64-bit, unlike the current 32-bit Core Duo. They will work with DDR2 memory. Laptops based on Turion X2 processors will also support NVIDIA SLI configurations for high-performance gaming solutions. Later this year, off-the-shelf solutions with new AMD mobile processors will gain support for 802.11 wireless networks.11n, in the first models this functionality will be absent.
