ECS SDGE: CrossFire and SLI in one bottle
Most recently, ECS surprised the world a lot with its PF88 Extreme Hybrid motherboard that can work with both Intel processors and AMD chips. However, sooner or later this idea, most likely, would still have occurred to some manufacturer who decided to “go back to basics” when Intel processors were not so different from AMD processors and used the same socket. Therefore, it is not surprising that the idea to combine different approaches to realizing the ability of two graphics adapters to work on graphics processing – now known as SLI and CrossFire, also came up with ECS.
The SDGE technology (Scalable Dual Graphic Engines), which the source tells about, will allow (in the future, when the problem with unlocking drivers is resolved – on this topic ECS is negotiating with NVIDIA and ATI) to use two SLI or CrossFire graphics cards in a system built on chipset, for example, from Intel.
