ABBYY Announces New SDK for Document Recognition, Form Processing and PDF Conversion
In November 2021, ABBYY plans to release a developer toolkit (SDK) – ABBYY FineReader Engine 8.0 for Windows. This SDK contains all the available recognition technologies developed by ABBYY to date: OCR (Optical Character Recognition), ICR (Intelligent Character Recognition), Optical Mark Recognition (OMR), 1D and 2D barcodes, PDF processing, data extraction from forms (FormReader) and unstructured documents (FlexiCapture). All functions of recognition and data collection from documents, forms and PDF files are available through a single universal API (Application Programming Interface).
The new version of the product will improve the capabilities of full-text document recognition, for the first time there will be a full set of functions designed for text recognition at the level of individual fields. The listed capabilities are widely demanded in the automation of tasks such as classification and indexing of documents, extraction of a set of attributes from documents using intelligent algorithms for information analysis.
