Sanyo Xacti E60: stylish camera with 3-inch display

Six months ago, a model with a 3-inch Xacti E6 screen appeared in the Sanyo line of digital cameras. Its successor – the Xacti E60 camera will enter the market this month. Externally, the novelty is very similar to its predecessor: the same shape of the metal case with rounded corners and a large LCD display measuring 3 inches diagonally. Added, perhaps, a vertical overlay on the front panel for a more comfortable grip.

The display is not touch-sensitive, unlike similar fashion solutions such as the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N1 or Pentax Optio T10. Sanyo navigates through the menus using a 5-way joystick. However, the large screen should provide comfortable sighting when shooting. And in playback mode, you can display 36 images at once (a symbolic number for those who still remember 35-mm film) or increase the frame up to 57.5x.

The Xacti E60 camera lens provides 3x optical zoom in an equivalent focal length range of 38 – 114mm at f / 3.3 – f / 4. Added image stabilization system, but do not flatter yourself. The system is not optical, but digital. To prevent blur, the camera will unceremoniously increase sensitivity, which will not be the best way to affect the image noise level.

Perhaps, it is worth noting the ability to record video clips with sound in VGA-resolution and 30 frames per second, as well as the presence of the “super macro” mode, which allows shooting from a distance of 1 cm.

The price of the Sanyo Xacti E60 camera will be about $ 420.
