BT RIGHTreader – the first RFID scanner with Bluetooth
Radio frequency identification (RFID) devices are rapidly expanding their applications, forcing manufacturers to look for ways to improve their products. For example, RightTag presented the world’s first RFID scanner operating at 13.56 MHz and equipped with a Bluetooth module. The name of the device corresponds to the function and purpose – BT RIGHTreader.
The scanner can read information from barcodes and transmit it to a receiver with a USB, serial port, or equipped with Bluetooth. The operating temperature range (from -4 to 55 degrees Celsius) is unlikely to allow the device to be used in our climate outside heated buildings. Antenna with a 1 MHz channel bandwidth allows reading RFID tags at a distance of up to 16 cm, while the range of further wireless information transmission is standard for Bluetooth 1.2 – about 10 meters.
Naturally, the scanner software can be updated, new types of RFIDs can be added to it.
The price of the device recommended by the manufacturer is currently somewhat overestimated due to the lack of analogues on the market and amounts to $ 600.
