The Iliad will hit the shelves in April
iRex, a subsidiary of Philips, has released an update on the upcoming iLiad e-reader (ER 0100). We will remind, “Iliad” was announced at the end of last year.
First, the date of the novelty’s release on the market became known – April of this year.
Secondly, the iLiad will indeed have an Intel XScale processor (400 MHz), 64 MB of RAM and 224 MB of flash memory available to the user. In addition, the device will be equipped with WiFi and Ethernet network interfaces, a headphone jack, slots for SD and CF cards, and a USB host for connecting external drives.
Thirdly, according to the manufacturer’s calculations, one battery charge will last more than a week of operation (based on 3.5 hours of reading per day). The computer will be able to work with files in PDF, XHTML, TXT and MP3 formats.
Fourth – the price. It has not been officially announced yet, but according to some reports, the device will cost European buyers 650 euros.
