Kontron microETXexpress-PM – the first microETXexpress single board computer

Kontron introduced the first single board computer (SBC) called microETXexpress-PM, based on its proposed “computer-on-module” format – microETXexpress. The microETXexpress form factor was introduced last fall, its connectors and pinouts are compatible with ETXexpress and COM Express (developed by the PICMG consortium), the only difference is the smaller size (95 x 95 mm). Kontron orients microETXexpress for use in portable systems that require PCI and PCI Express buses.

microETXexpress-PM will initially ship with low voltage Intel LV Pentium M (800 MHz or 1.4 GHz), Intel Celeron M (600 MHz) or Ultra Low Voltage Celeron M (1 GHz). The module includes an Intel Extreme Graphics 2 video controller that supports 2048 x 1536 pixels (for CRT displays) and 1600 x 1200 pixels (for LCD displays).

The new single board computer reportedly will ship with Linux operating system. The price of microETXexpress-PM is still unknown.

Additional Information:

  • Chipset: Intel 855GME (FSB – 400 MHz);
  • Memory: up to 1GB DDR;
  • HDD interfaces: PATA, SATA;
  • Network: 10/100 Mbps Ethernet;
  • Interfaces: 6 USB 2.0;
  • Integrated AC97 codec.
