You can place them, if desired, with a much higher density.
  • Screen illumination can be made perfectly uniform both at maximum brightness and with dynamic blanking.
  • LED response time is 5 orders of magnitude shorter than that of a fluorescent lamp. T.e. about 120 ns for a full cycle black-white-black versus 16 ms. This allows for high sweep rates.
  • There is no mercury in LEDs. Not only is its exclusion a mandatory RoHS recommendation, it also causes a decrease in the operating parameters of lamps at low temperatures.
  • The lifetime of the LED backlight module is longer and practically does not limit the lifespan of the display containing it.
  • On the other side of the scale – the high cost and poor debugging of the still technological process. But it’s not so bad here either.
