BeSang and Albany Nanotech give memory volume

BeSang, a young semiconductor chip development company that does not have its own production facilities, has released data on the “bulk” memory created by its specialists.

The College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) of the University of Albany participates in the project. As part of a three-year program, the cost of which will amount to 1.1 million. Doll., BeSang will use the material base of CNSE.

Development details are still kept secret. It is known that inside a semiconductor microcircuit, memory is located on top of a layer of logic circuits. Patented floating memory technology improves speed and storage density.

Conventional “bulk” chip technology operates on package-level layout, and BeSang’s design “assembles” multilayer semiconductors within a single chip using “seamless and unrestricted” connections between layers. As a result, according to the developers, it is possible to obtain an economical and high-speed memory option.

BeSang plans to license its brainchild to manufacturers of offline and embedded memory.

It is interesting to note that the company was created relatively recently – in 2021, and was headed by San-Yun Lee – a man who at one time held senior positions at Samsung, IDT and Motorola. Funding sources of the company are not advertised.
